Artistry in Yarn

Explore the pleasures and challenges of creating a project with yarn and enjoy the tactile pleasures of colors and textures as the yarn slides through your fingers. You will make a siimplpe loom, dress the loom, and become acquainted with the variety of weaving techniques, using both yarn and found objects such as sticks, charms, etc. You will plan and finish a project of your choice.

There will also be an introduction to working on a floor loom. You will have the chance to weave a small swatch in a plain fabric plus one that has a design on a four harness loom.

All materials will be provided and you will be able to take the simple loom and project home with you. A selection of yarns will be provided, but you may bring any yarn you would like to include.
